Following the accident (of which U. Akron never supplied me any photos of despite EOHS taking numerous pictures) \u201cKennedy\u201d had me back to working on polymerizations and requested the construction of a less dangerous cooling bath.\u00a0 Despite having spent almost one month on the construction of this bath, \u201cKennedy\u201d decided to not use it.\u00a0 During this period my relations with both Stas and \u201cKennedy\u201d continued to deteriorate as I was never able to reproduce any of Stas\u2019 results in the area of the Yb(OTf)3<\/sub> polymerization system (please see files below this paragraph).\u00a0 Likewise, Stas began acting unusual and his physical appearance, odor, and physiological responses began to take a weird turn.\u00a0 For example, on numerous occasions he acted paranoid during experimentation.\u00a0 According to him, failure was certain unless I did as he said.\u00a0 He also appeared to be either drunk or sedated by some sort of drug and his body odor at times had become so unpleasant that people could not stand to be in the same office cube room as him.\u00a0 While working in complete air conditioning he would begin to sweat profusely as if he was running a marathon.\u00a0 As I continued to question his previous results threats were being lodged against me, death threats.\u00a0 These threats were of such a grave nature that I had to begin locking all personal belongings in a filing cabinet to prevent the possibility of being poisoned.\u00a0 A friend of mine, Mr. S. Carrolla and I approached \u201cKennedy\u201d about Stas but as per usual \u201cKennedy\u201d did nothing.<\/p>\n

I soon began to suspect that \u201cKennedy\u201d was possibly the mastermind behind the entire fabrication of experimental data.\u00a0 During several group meetings between the three of us \u201cKennedy\u201d would make unusual comments.\u00a0 For example, after Stas started to become somewhat belligerent during one meeting \u201cKennedy\u201d stated, \u201cYou know Stas, Stalin wasn\u2019t a bad guy.\u00a0 He did many good things.\u201d To which Stas replied, \u201cDr. \u2018Kennedy\u2019 you should not say these things.\u201d\u00a0 While attending these meetings I kept voicing my concern over the fact that Stas did not possess any physical samples of the polymers he had supposedly made.\u00a0 \u201cKennedy\u2019s\u201d reply to me was, \u201cI don\u2019t care about samples.\u00a0 Go into the lab and make me data.\u201d\u00a0 It seemed as if my assumptions were true.\u00a0 To me it would appear that the entire thing was fake from the very beginning and both Stas and \u201cKennedy\u201d knew it.\u00a0 Still, I wasn\u2019t sure as \u201cKennedy\u201d didn\u2019t give me a direct order to falsify data, but what else could \u201cGo into the lab and make me data.\u201d mean if physical samples were not important?\u00a0 Regardless, my conscious is such that even at that time doing such a thing was impossible for me.\u00a0 So, I returned to the lab once more (at least for approximately one more week) to conduct some final experimentation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
